Jewelry Making No Go

I think Murphy shot me with his arrow…
I was doing so well! I was getting things done, I was feeling motivated, and I was more or less on top of my priorities (at least for scattered ol’ me anyway).
Then tragedy struck. You know what I’m talking about- whenever things start falling into place, the universe has to throw a wrench into the works. I call it Murphy shoot ing me with an arrow. (Murphy is THE Murphy of Murphy’s Law. Murphy’s Law of course states that when something can go wrong, it will).
I guess the universe was telling me that my priorities were a bit skewed. Sure, I was on top of my business related goals, but my kids and family were taking a backseat.
What happened was this: My laptop blew up. It stopped working properly, kept shutting down, and I had to get a new one which took awhile. THEN, I had to transfer files from my more than unreliable old laptop. My motivation went down the toilet. Not only was I without computer, my interest in making jewelry fizzled too.
It took me over three weeks to sort everything and it was a huge pain in the butt, but now everything is starting to get back on track.
But the main thing was that without the computer calling to me all the time, my work motivation in the toilet, and spending less time making jewelry, I spent lots more time with my family. Many of my readers know this, but maybe you don’t. I’m a stay-at-home-mom/work-at-home-mom. I have 2 young kids, 2 1/2 and 4, and I decided to work from home in order to be with my kids as much as possible. As my youngest gets older and more active, I have less and less time to spend on non-kid related endeavors. I was trying so hard to run a business while being at home with my kids, I sort of sold them a little short. My daughter was even saying things like, “You can only go on your computer for one minute!”.

I’m embarassed to say that I have scolded and yelled at her to do something else so I can work. Clearly I lost track of my priorities.Speaking of which, I’m going to go and spend more time with them now. I think my one minute is up.

Have a great one!
Christine
